Doctors of the World launch “SafeRefugees.info” During the refugee crisis in Greece, 65,000 refugees - immigrants are stranded in our country, people from different countries with different cultures fatigued and tired from long and painful journey. Doctors of the World / Médecins du Monde – Greece (MdM-Greece), founded in 1990, is a medical humanitarian non-governmental organization and is a member of Médecins Du Monde International which consists of 15 delegations (Argentina, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States of America). The guiding principle underlying MdM’s activities is that every human being has a right to humanitarian assistance, irrespective of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, ideology or political persuasion. MdM is, therefore, guided by the principles of neutrality and impartiality. True to our Humanitarian principles and responding to the imperatives of new technologies we created Saferefugees.info “SafeRefugees.info” is a web platform designed to help migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and in general people who are in need of information concerning the activities of Organizations, NGOs and public services in Greece. The Organizations that are included offer free medical health care, social counseling, psychological support, legal help, food, housing, education, as well as other services related to human rights’ protection. Navigation is offered in five languages Greek, English, French, Arabic and Farsi. By simply clicking buttons, the user can choose the service that he/she seeks and the organization that offers it. Once the user chooses the navigation language, he/she will be transferred to the main menu which comprises 15 categories based on the service offered.
